Biesemeyer, Paula J – 58Â[sic] went to be with the Lord on July 17, 2010. Paula was born in Great Bend, KS on July 3, 1952. She was known as “Mimi” to her grandkids and enjoyed spending free time with her family. She worked for Union Public Schools for 11 years until she retired in 2006.Â[sic] She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Shelley and Chris Dobyns, two grand-daughters, Addison and Peyton, and numerous family members. A memorial service will be held in the Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday July 22 at 3:00 p.m.
Services for Terry R. Burns, Camdenton, will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Allee-Reed Funeral Home with burial in Mount Horeb Cemetery, Decaturville.
Mr. Burns, a restaurant cook, died at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in Lake of the Ozarks General Hospital of an apparent heart attack. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home.

Committal prayers and interment will follow in I.O.O.F. Cemetery under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service and Cremation Directors.
Darrell Cain, known respectfully as Brother Cain, was born on January 3, 1952 in Ponca City, Oklahoma, the son of Alfred and Lola Butterfield Cain. He passed away peacefully on July 25, 2016 at his residence. Darrell was raised and educated in Ponca City, graduating from Ponca City High School with the class of 1970. As a young man, Darrell played basketball, football, and bowling, where he made many lifetime friends. Being part river rat, Darrell and other ‘rowdy rowers’ participated in the Ponca City Raft Races for years. Darrell and his teammates designed and built their own rafts. His teams always had an entertaining time! (Clark Kent was rumored to be with them on one ride.) Costume designing was another one of Darrell’s talents. His imagination and inginuity (sic) inspired many interesting Halloween costumes. He worked in the oilfield services, beginning at Cain’s Oilfield Services, the business his father started. Brother Cain worked in and around the oilfield business his whole life. He was a pipefitter, and, later worked for the Labor’s Union until retirement in 2007. Darrell married Kathy in Newkirk, Oklahoma on March 28, 2003. Kathy and Darrell were best friends and shared a wonderful life together. He loved to be outdoors - camping, cooking, fishing, floating down the Salt Fork River. Every Sunday, you could find him with friends and family playing horseshoes. And, How Bout Them Cowboys! Darrell had a love for Oklahoma State University. Rarely would you see him out of OSU orange. Darrell and Kathy had season football tickets and loved tailgating. He loved his grandbabies, spending as much time with them as possible. Darrell was devoted to his family and his friends. Darrell lived life to the fullest-fun, friends, and family. Sometimes, it was hard to distinguish the friends from the family, because, in his heart, they were one in the same. All of us that were touched by his life have been blessed. He is loved and will be missed. Darrell is survived by his wife, Kathy Cain of the residence; his brother, David Cain of Ponca City; his children, Dusty Patrick of Westwood, Kansas, Jennie Boggs and husband Dan of Waipahu, HI, Sarah Hollingsworth and husband Dustin of Ponca City, Becky Cain of Ponca City, Aaron Cain of Ponca City. Six grandchildren, Mikhail and Riley Hollingsworth, Emma Lawson, Kensley Cain, Tristan and Adeline Cain, all of Ponca City. Darrell was preceded in passing by his parents, Alfred and Lola Cain; grandparents, Bill and Mary Cain, his uncle Jake Butterfield, and his aunt Clara Jane Case. Ted Carney
Visalia - Ted (Theodore Roosevelt) Carney joined his mother Peggy, father Ted and his sisters Pam and Sharon in heaven on July 3, 2018. Ted was born December 5, 1951 in McAllen, Texas. Ted leaves behind his wife Ramona Carney, two step sons Ryan Brown Tulare, Michael Brown Visalia, four grandchildren, two brothers William (Bill) Carney Prescott Valley Arizona, Matt Carney Diamond Springs and many close friends.
Ted spent many of his childhood years growing up in Ponca City, Oklahoma where he was known to pester his four younger siblings to no end. Ted's father was a great salesman, which rubbed off on Ted. Ted's mother always had a garden growing in the yard, canning and freezing whatever it produced. Ted developed a passion for gardening, and had a garden at home and at work for his fellow employees to enjoy.
Ted graduated from Ponca City High school in 1970. Ted was avid in football, playing defense throughout high school. Ted continued to play football at college (Northeastern Oklahoma ) where he received a football scholarship. Ted graduated from the University of Central Arkansas on August 6, 1976 with a Bachelor' degree.
In 1980 Ted moved to Visalia working various jobs turning his love for sports and competition to golf. In 1983 Ted was honored to play with Gary Player in a ProAm golf tournament. Ted holds several golf course records and while trying out for the Phoenix Open he missed the cut by one stroke. Ted went on to play in other tournaments including the US Open. That was the last time Ted played golf returning home to work and never looked back.
Ted was always looking for a better way to do business and did so in 2010 taking the packaging industry to a new level world wide with his invention of the Rapid Bander stretch film by putting together a wide web stretch roll with bands (two rolls on the same carriage) to get a roping/banding effect that enhanced the strength of the film. Prior to that Ted invented the Rapid Roper by splitting stretch film on the same core to be used as a double roping device. Ted made it possible for his customers to use less stretch film to secure their product for a sturdier pallet.
Ted will be remembered as a motivator, innovator, visionary and friend to his customers, friends and co-workers. Ted's family will remember him as a hard worker and good man with some feistiness,

Delton Cook 1952-2013 his passing was documented in Wichita, and handled by Jackson Mortuary. Many of us were friends of Delton's on FaceBook and were very saddened when he became ill and posted about his journey. His daughter, Chris Brown, maintains his FB page today.

Steven Eugene Council, age 60, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2013. Born in Ponca City, OK on July 16, 1952, he was the son of Wanda Council and the late Bill Council. He was also preceded in death by his grandson, James Bradley Kreusch.
Steve graduated in Ponca City, Oklahoma in 1970. He was active in the Po-Hi Cheerleading Squad and the Po-Hi Band and as a member he marched in President Nixon’s inaugural parade.
He attended the University of Oklahoma from 1970 to 1973. In 1973, he went to work for Conoco Oil Co. for oil exploration. During this time he lived in Nebraska, North Dakota, Utah and Wyoming until 1974, when he returned to OU.
Steve married Teri Ormsby on February 3, 1974 in Riverton, Wyoming. He returned to Conoco in 1976 to 1981. During those years they lived in Yukon, Oklahoma and Roy, Utah, where they had their first child.
In October 1981, Steve moved back to Ponca City and went to work for Mertz in customer service. During those years, he traveled to China for two months to train the Chinese on their field equipment. He also represented Mertz Equipment at the Smithsonian Institute.
He was baptized at Council Road Baptist Church in 1977. In 1984 their second child was born. In 1986 he went to work for Air System Components. In 1987 their third child was born.
In 1993, Steve married Glenda Kay Bennett. They lived in Ponca City until 1999 and was transferred to Rocky Mount, North Carolina to work for ASC and then Superior Essex in 2012.
The things he loved most were fishing, reading, singing in the First Baptist Church choir, and Sooner football. Most of all, he loved to be with friends and family.
Steve loved the Lord and let others know that God was a priority in life and was active in church his entire life.
Steve was survived by his mother, Wanda Council; wife of 19 years, Glenda Council; his daughters, Caren Kreusch (husband Jay) and Stephanie Council; and son, Bradley Council (wife Lindsey). He is also survived by a sister, Elaine McCalip (husband Rick); and brother, William M. Council (wife Elizabeth). Steve has three grandsons; John Steven, Peter and Mark.
A celebration of Steve’s life will be held 2:00pm Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Rocky Mount with Rev. Dennis Darville officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm to 1:30pm prior to the service and other times at the home.

Billie Bob Cramer
Heaven welcomed another angel on December 22, 2013, when Bill Cramer was called home to be with his Lord.
Bill was the son of Lester and June (Nelson) Cramer on September 27, 1951 in Ponca City, Oklahoma. He attended McKinley Elementary, East Junior High, and Ponca City High School, graduating in 1970. He was an All-State Center with the Po-Hi Wildcats his junior and senior years.
In his earlier years, he spent much of his free time fishing and hunting. He later traded those activities for his true love of golf, spending many enjoyable hours on the course.
Bill’s employment career was in tires. He managed the Ponca City Firestone store until it’s closing, and then went to work for Goodyear until his retirement in 2005.
Bill was a member of Second Baptist Church, and that is where he married Sherri (Whipkey) Cramer on June 1, 1972. To their very blessed union came three very amazing children: Curt Cramer and wife, Melissa of Ashland, Kansas; Casey (Cramer) Walker and husband Cory of Beaver, Oklahoma; Cory Cramer and fiance Tessa Bristow of Ponca City, Oklahoma. He was also blessed with eight grandchildren: Montana, Austin, McKenzie, Dalton, Dayton, Lane, Brady, and Blake; and one great-grandchild, Molly. He had one sister, Cheryl (Cramer) Klinger and husband, Robert of Ponca City, Oklahoma; and two nephews, Robert and Dennis Cramer of Ponca City, Oklahoma.
He is preceded in death by his parents and half brother, Glen Cramer.

26-Year Fight for Survival Ends for Ponca City's Davis

PONCA CITY - Mike Davis never escaped from the injuries he received almost 30 years ago.
The former Ponca City High School wrestler's fight for survival ended Aug. 19, more than 26 1/2 years after a traffic accident that killed his popular coach and seriously injured two of his teammates.
Davis was 42.
On Jan. 11, 1968, members of the Ponca City wrestling team were on their way to the Geary Tournament.
As the three-car caravan traveled west on U.S. 270 between Calumet and Geary, a tractor-trailer rig loaded with 70,000 pounds of grain jackknifed and hit the back car.
The car's driver, head coach Ted Pierce, died instantly. Davis and teammates Steve Ellenwood and Terry Cook were seriously injured.
Davis, a sophomore who competed at 115 pounds, was in the back driver's seat and received severe head injuries and a broken left elbow. He regained consciousness three months later, but never fully regained use of his motor skills.
"Mike was in the hospital for three years, in nursing homes for 10 years and in a facility next to Mom and Dad's house the last 13 years," said Linda Clark, Mike's sister. "He was a bed patient for 26 years, but was never considered a burden - he was part of our family, and it was a joy to take care of him.
"Because of the constant hands-on caring, it's going to be difficult for Mom and Dad to adjust to his loss. But I think the way to deal with death is look at the positive side - he's not suffering anymore and can do whatever he wants to do now.
"And the community has been most generous," Linda added. "We got notes and prayers and financial donations, and they really supported Mike and the people who dedicated their lives to Mike's care. " Pierce, 29, was a star at Backwell High School and Oklahoma State University. He had taken over the Ponca City program in 1963 and had led the team to a second-place finish in the state tournament, earning him Wrestling Coach of the Year honors in 1965.
The future looked bright. Then tragedy stunned the Kay County city of about 26,000.
Cook, then a junior and the team's heavyweight, was sitting in the back passenger seat and suffered a cracked pelvis and minor cuts. He was released from the Ponca City hospital two weeks later.
Cook now is a deputy sheriff in Hominy.
Ellenwood, a junior who wrestled at 123 pounds, was in the front passenger seat and suffered a fractured skull, broken arms and numerous cuts. He underwent surgery at St. Anthony's Hospital in Oklahoma City and was released two weeks later.
He now is a teacher at Ponca City's Pioneer Area Vo-Tech Center.

David Del Torto was born May 11, 1952 in Claremore, OK, to James and Dixie Del Torto. The Lord called him home on Tuesday, November 17, at the age of 63.
David was a 1970 graduate of Ponca City High School. He and the former Linda Berry were married in Bethesda, MD on April 6, 1974. David served in the U.S. Navy from 1973 to 1977 during which time he graduated from the Medical Laboratory Technician Advance School in Bethesda, MD. After serving his country, David attended the University of Oklahoma, graduating from the Physician Assistant Program in 1980. He worked as an emergency room physician assistant for 30 years before retiring in 2010. David was a gifted musician and played guitar and bass for various bands much of his life. He had a genuine love for people that was expressed by kindness and compassion. David was a member of Marietta’s First Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife, Linda of the home in Marietta; son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Tracie Del Torto of Ardmore, OK; daughter and son-in-law, Crystal and Jason Nicholson of Lone Grove, OK; two brothers and sister-in-law, Randy and Sally Del Torto of Newcastle, OK and Lindy Del Torto of El Reno, OK; sister, Jayme Conn of Oklahoma City, OK; and five grandchildren, Kaden, Macy, Mikayla, Austin, and Asher.
Serving as casket bearers will be Harold Greene, Cody Greene, Steve Smith, Billy Sam Smith, Steve Jones, and Joey Tucker. Honorary bearers will be the many friends he made over the years that he loved dearly.

Keri Kathleen Davis, slipped from a peaceful sleep to a better place, Friday, Sept. 26, 2014.
Born in Ponca City, May 30, 1952, the beloved daughter of Bill and Charlotte Denison.
She was a staunch Green Bay Packers fan, enjoyed R and R trips to Oklahoma City in her van, but more than anything else, ever, her two grandsons, Holden and Seth Bayha.
We will be forever grateful to Dr. John Holden and staff and to the wonderful, kind, skilled crew of Ponca Nursing and Rehab.
She was preceded in death by her father; her beloved grandparents, Cecil and Ruth Suggs; granddaughter, Kyla Davis Faulk and special buddy, Charles Hunt.

After a long battle with cancer, longtime Ponca City resident, Michael "Mike" Lee Fugate went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2008, at Ponca City Medical Center. He was 58.
The funeral will be Monday, Dec. 8, 2008, at 2 pm at The Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. David Bigger, pastor of Free Will Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at the Odd Fellows Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home and Crematory.
Mike was born in Tulsa on July 2, 1950, to Ruth Marie Van Dyck and John O. Fugate. He attended McKinley Elementary School, East Junior High and graduated from Ponca City High School in 1969. He married his high school sweetheart, Marilyn Crook, on Sept. 25, 1970. They were married 38 years. Mike was employed at Mertz Inc. for 33 years until ill health forced his retirement. Mike loved to camp and fish, go to garage sales, wood working and spending time with his family and beloved pets: Belle, CiCi, and Peanut.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn of the home; two children, Tina Marie Fugate and Steven Michael Fugate and companion Janet. Through his children he was blessed with his pride and joy, his grandchildren, Madison Larison, Dustin Fugate and Michael Pavitt. He is also survived by his brother, George Fugate and wife Barbara of Tulsa; a sister, Connie Miller of Ponca City; mother-in-law, Naomi Crook; sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Crook, Linda Woodall and husband George, and Carolyn Guthrie and husband Terry; brother-in-law, Virgil Crook and companion, Lora. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Mike was preceded in death by his beloved granddaughter, Chelsea Fugate; mother, Ruth Van Dyck, and stepfather, John Van Dyck; his father, John O. Fugate; brother in-law, Chris Miller; and father-in-law, Virgil Crook Sr.
Mike was also very blessed to have an extended family, sister by love, Sue McWhorter and husband Robert; son by love, Bill Walton and wife Janette; and Keith and Sandy Fox and family.

Wayne Gil Garton, resident of Mary Esther, Fla., passed away Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009, following a lengthy battle with cancer. He was 57 years old. A memorial service will be held 5 p.m. Monday, Feb. 8, at Community Christian Church.
Wayne was born June 9, 1952, to George Vance Garton and Wanda C. Gil Garton in Ponca City. He grew up in Ponca City, graduating from Ponca City High School in 1970. He followed his dreams and his work to places such as Alabama, Oregon, Missouri, Tennessee and Florida.
Wayne was a self-taught musician who was able to play almost any instrument handed to him. He was also a talented singer and songwriter. He was able to fix anything mechanical and was known for often developing new ideas to make something work better. Wayne loved the ocean and scuba diving. He led an adventurous life and had many stories about those adventures of which he loved to share.
Wayne is survived by his wife Carolyn of the home; his mother, Wanda Garton of Ponca City; his sister, Velma Nephew of Florida; two daughters, Dawn Jackson and Lori Rau of Ponca City; a stepdaughter, Cathy Merritt; a stepson, Jimmy Dunn of Florida, 13 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Garton; his brother, Vance Garton; and a stepson, Mark Moore.

James Dewey “J. D.” Hall Jr. of Ponca City, Oklahoma, died Sunday, March 29, 2015, at his home at the age of 63 years.
James Dewey “J. D.” Hall Jr. was born on July 19, 1951, in Ponca City to James Dewey “J. D.” and Betty Jean (McDaniel) Hall Sr. He grew up in Ponca City attending Ponca City Public Schools and graduated from Ponca City High School in 1970. He worked as a custodian until his retirement. He enjoyed attending movies and eating Chinese food. He loved his family and especially loved fishing with his grandchildren. He also loved animals and helping those less fortunate.
He is survived by a daughter, Amber Hall and fiancé Carlton Clardy of Ponca City; a son, Jason Hall of Oklahoma City; two sisters, Susan Anderson and husband Tom of Ponca City and Peggy Hammons and husband Doug of Oklahoma City; and two grandchildren, Micah Hall and Kiara Clardy both of Ponca City.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Jerry Hall.
A visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, April 1st from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Roberts and Son Funeral Home. Cremation will follow with no services planned.

Obituary
Randy Elston Hargraves, age 69, of Yukon passed away on August 29. 2021. He was the first born son to Elston and Sue Hargraves of Ponca City on February 17, 1952. He had one sibling, a younger brother Stacy "Scott" Hargraves. Randy graduated from Ponca City High School in 1970 and continued studies at Northern Oklahoma College and Oklahoma State Tech.
Randy married his love, Carol, on December 22, 1972 at age 20. They had many adventures together before starting a family. Together they had two daughters, Dacia and Kensi.
Randy retired from the City of OKC with 28 years of service on March 26, 2015. In his professional career he obtained many certifications and licenses to support his roles as a Water Plant Laboratory Technician, Chief Plant Operator, and Plumbing Inspector I. He used his spare time to pursue his many passions. He developed a two-man board game called “MILL” and coordinated the manufacturing and marketing of the game. He later acquired trademarks for a pain relief cream, Something Soothing, that he developed. He also spent many years as a beekeeper, relocating displaced honey bee hives from peoples homes and trees. He had many more diverse ventures including selling Real Estate, driving an electric car (Wheego), building wind chargers, discovering Bigfoot, and recently he started raising chickens and seeking out the most accurate beanie flip (sling shot).
He will be remembered for his wildly entertaining interests, love for helping others, and excitement to learn about new things. Randy was always a favorite amongst his Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, and Nephews at all family get-togethers and reunions.
Randy was proud to be a Jehovah’s Witness attending the Yukon Kingdom Hall. Randy’s interest in the organization was sparked at a young age by his Uncle Buster & Family who were Jehovah’s Witnesses in California. His family also attended some Bible Studies during his childhood. Shortly after being married, Randy and Carol studied with Nobel and Fannie Boise in Ponca City. After relocating to Yukon, OK, Randy began attending the Yukon Kindom Hall regularly and was proud when he was baptized on July 11, 1992. As an anointed individual, Randy began partaking of the bread and wine at the annual Memorial of Christ’s death on August 5, 2012. Randy’s parents, Elston and Sue Hargraves, are also Baptized Jehovah's Witnesses of the Ponca City Congregation.
Preceded in death by brother, Stacy “Scott” Hargraves on May 9, 1982 (drowning); Father and Mother-in-laws, Francis and Joan; and Sister-in-law, Donna.
His memory will be cherished and kept alive by his wife, Carol; daughter, Dacia; future son-in-law, Cory; daughter, Kensi and partner, Brad; grandchildren, Brooklyn, Aeris, Logan, and Lukas; parents, Elston and Sue, of Ponca City; Sister-in-law, Judy and family; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held through Zoom on Sunday, September 5th at 2 pm, link can be found below. Following the service, friends and family will have an opportunity to share fond memories of Randy. His will was to be cremated and the family will place a gravestone in remembrance of Randy in Grandview Cemetery in Kaw City, OK.
The family wishes to thank Tom Gotcher, Steve Wolfe, Kyle Miller, Randy Johnson, Mikala Peña, Robert Wolfe, and Jason Hodge, for assisting us through Randy's hospitalization and memorial arrangements. Thanks also go out to the friends and family that have been instrumental in helping Randy's loved ones through this difficult time. The family also want to thank all of the Yukon congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses for their love and prayers on behalf of Randy.

Ms. Mary Jo Haynes, in her 71st season of life, was called home by the Master as He whispered “Well Done Good and Faithful Servant” on the evening of Tuesday, November 28, 2023.
Mary Jo was born May 29, 1952, in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Mary was the second of four daughters born to Elza and Rebecca (Warner) Haynes. A perspicacious student, Mary received her early education in the Ponca City School System. She attended Attucks Grade School, East Junior High School and graduated from Ponca City High School. Mary enrolled at Northern Oklahoma College where she received her associate degree and then matriculated to the University of Central Oklahoma where she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology.
Upon returning to her hometown, Ponca City Mary gained employment with Conoco Inc where she displayed and gained insightful leadership and job skills. After twenty-five years of dedicated service Mary retired in 2003. Not one to sit idle, it wasn’t long before she began a second career working with the Ponca City School System making friends with the littles who all affectionately called her Ms. Mary. Additionally, her career encompassed working security at Phillips 66 with Allied Security Inc.
Mary loved her family, and they provided the greatest joys in her life, as did her church family at Connor Chapel, AME. Another enjoyment for Mary was supporting her Dallas Cowboys, Oklahoma Sooners, and reading. She was an avid reader of Christian books and literature. Mary was the very best at loving her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Reverend Elza Haynes, mother Rebecca Warner Haynes, a sister, Brenda Coffee DeShazer and brother-in-law Joe Del Coffee, one nephew, Daniel Coffee as well as her paternal and maternal grandparents.

Mark Clifford Heltzel, longtime Ponca City resident, died Saturday, Aug. 2, 1997, at the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. He was 44.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, at the Odd Fellows Cemetery with Mr. Larry Keirn, Grand Avenue Church of Christ, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Trout Funeral Home. Friends may call at the funeral home until 1 p.m. Wednesday.
Born Oct. 12, 1952, in Fort Worth, Texas, Mark Clifford Heltzel was the son of Carroll M. and Betty Joe (Florence) Heltzel. He graduated from Ponca City High School in 1970. Mark attended Northern Oklahoma College and Oklahoma State University. He was a member of the Grand Avenue Church of Christ and enjoyed golf, basketball and his family.
Survivors include his mother, Betty, of the home; brothers, Richard of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Jay of Missouri City, Texas. His father, Carroll M. Heltzel, preceded him in death.

So far, all I've found for Wilbur. If this is the correct notice, is his first name spelled wrong? Solved...Wilber's name must be misspelled on the seniors' page 163 in our 1970 yearbook. I've also received a copy of the Services Pending portion of the Ponca City News, which names Wilber.
On Thursday, March 21, 2024, Linda Eileen Nelson (aka Nana) of Morrison, OK, passed on from this life and went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in Heaven. Linda was surrounded by her three loving sons, Matthew, Mark, and Scott, her four precious granddaughters, Brayley, Daisy, Adley, and Scarlett, her daughters-in-law, sister, and friends, when she was reunited with the love of her life, Everett.
Linda was born on April 22,1952 to Harold and Kathleen Jones in Atchison, KS. She graduated from Ponca City High School in 1970. She married Everett on August 6, 1977. Linda worked many interesting jobs throughout her life, including a short stint for the FBI in Washington D.C.; however, she was most well known as Mrs. Nelson at Morrison Elementary School as the secretary for 20+ years. Linda was regarded as a compassionate, loving, caring soul, and many students, who are now adults, that passed through Morrison Schools remember her for her kindness and love and her healing touch.
Nana “filled our hearts with gladness, she took away our sadness, and eased our troubles.” She was deeply loved and respected by all who knew her, and her laughter was contagious. Linda never missed an opportunity to watch football and sport her favorite team jersey, the Kansas City Chiefs.
In retirement, all of Linda’s spare time was spent loving on her four granddaughters, hosting family gatherings for holidays and birthdays, attending softball and basketball games for Brayley, Adley, and Daisy, and playing and doing crafts with Scarlett. Her granddaughters and sons were her world, and she didn’t miss an opportunity to be there to support them. She spent much time with her daughters-in-law and loved all three unconditionally. Linda had a very close relationship with her sister, Lisa, and she loved to ride the train to Texas to spend time with her, staying up all night talking and laughing. She also enjoyed going to concerts with her best friend Julie, and watching television and sports with her good friend Brandi.
Linda is survived by her three precious sons; Matthew and wife Paula of Ponca City; Mark and wife Tiffany of Perry; Scott and wife Kyla of Morrison; four granddaughters, Brayley, Daisy, Adley, and Scarlett Nelson; one sister Lisa Groom and husband Richard of Van Alstyne, TX; and sister-in-law Terrie Jones of Katy, TX; lifelong friend Julie Ramey, and friend Brandi Ross, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Linda is reunited in Heaven with the love of her life, Everett; her brother Larry Jones; her parents Harold and Kathleen; and her grandparents LaRoy and Gladys Filbert, and Grandma and Grandpa Gardner.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 25, 2024 at Morrison Cemetery in Morrison, Oklahoma.
A viewing will take place on Sunday, March 24, 2024 from 1-8 p.m. at Trout Funeral Home of Perry. The family will be present from 2-4 p.m. at the visitation to greet friends and family. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home of Perry, 1408 N 7th St, Perry, OK 73077.
David Wayne Kelly
David Wayne Kelly, lifelong resident of Ponca City, died Friday, April 17, 2015, at Shawn Manor Nursing Home. He was 63 years of age.
David was born the son of Dewey Wayne Kelly and Genevieve Ione Poulter Kelly on July 19, 1951 in Ponca City.
He attended Ponca City Schools and was a Po Hi graduate. He then attended Okmulgee Vo-tech and graduated with a degree in diesel mechanics.
On Dec. 20, 1996 he married Brenda Cile Jones in Ponca City where they continued to make their home.
He was a simple man and a hardworking farmer. He enjoyed going to farm shows and farm auctions. He especially enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter, Rymington “Cricket” Rutledge.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda; daughters, Beth Kelly and Kimmy Kelly; three brothers, Dennis Kelly, Glenn Kelly, Darrell Kelly; two sisters, Nancy Mooney and Barbara Spears.;
nieces and nephews, Michael, Chrystal, Heather, Shauny, Yvonne, Christie, Travis, Jerad, Layne, Lacey, Branden, Justin, Candace, Taylor and Lauren and 22 great-nieces and -nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 21, at Faith Tabernacle Church, 201 S. Fifth St. with Don Stanton, pastor, officiating.
Casket bearers will be his nephews, Branden Spears, Justin Spears, Travis Kelly, Jerad Kelly, Michael Kelly and Shawn Kelly.
Honorary casket bearers will be Roy Rork, Terry Watson and Patrick Carnes.
The family also wanted mentioned as honorary casket bearers, his very dear deceased friends, Rick Tautfest, Deloy Towne and Olen Sisco whom he dearly missed.

Daniel C. Kimmel, age 70, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family early in the morning on August 31, 2022, after a battle with glioblastoma. Dan was born in Oklahoma on January 9, 1952. Dan received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Oklahoma, and his Master’s Degree from North Central College.
Dan was an IT software engineer, and his career took him to the Netherlands and England, where he met a blond beauty, Jane Wardle. They fell in love, got married and moved to Lockport, Illinois, where they became the parents of three beautiful daughters. Luckily for all of us, they moved to Burnsville in 1998 and met his Minnesota friends through the Hash House Harriers, an international running group.
As an endurance athlete, Dan took every activity to an astounding level. His love of running translated to completing over 80 marathons. His love of cross-country skiing led him to become a Birchlegger, which means he finished 20 Birkebeiners, a 55-kilometer cross-country ski race in Northern Wisconsin. He also skied the Mora Vasaloppet several times, as well as the Twin Cities Loppet. Dan also loved the bicycle, and raced in many events in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
A lover of the theater, Dan acted in many productions over the years. He was also one to burst into song at any given time.
Dan’s desire to make the world a better place let him to a brief political career. He was a voice for the underdog and those less fortunate.
We will always cherish the time we had with Dan. We had many conversations, about life, politics, current events, and sports. He enjoyed craft beer, the hoppier, the better and a good crossword puzzle.
Dan is survived by his wife, Jane, his daughters, Elizabeth, Vanessa, and Alexandra, 6 grandchildren, his sisters, Sally and Karol, and a brother, Jon. He was preceded in death by his parents, Beverly and Duncan.
We hope you are running around in heaven, Dan, sipping on a good IPA, and watching over us. You are loved by your family, and your dear friends. We will miss you.

Robin Janelle Knight Warrior, resident of Ponca City, OK, went to be with the creator on April 20, 2022, at OSU Hospital in Tulsa, OK, surrounded by her children and other loved ones. She was 69 years young. A public viewing will be held at Trout Funeral Home on Monday, April 25, 2022, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A graveside service will be held at the Ponca Tribal Cemetery at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, April 26, 2022. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W. Robin was born May 28, 1952, in Ponca City, OK, the daughter of Louis Knight and Vernalee Knight. She grew up in Ponca City where she graduated high school in 1970. She played softball for 45 years. Robin was in fast-pitch during her high school days. She worked for the FBI after graduating high school, before working for her people the Ponca Tribe for 25 years. Robin’s love for children sent her to work for The Country Day School for 15 years. For the remainder of her life, she worked for Ody’s Bar.
Robin in her youthful days was invited to be head lady dancer for her tribe and played on a traveling softball team where she met many life-long friends. Some of her favorite hobbies were going to the casino, playing bingo, and being with her friends and family.
She was beloved by all who knew her and she was always willing to help her friends and family in need. Robin leaves behind to mourn her loss, her children, daughter, Cresta Hudson; son, Ponca ChildCheif Warrior, son, Tyler Warrior, son, Brady Warrior; also sisters, Gina Ewing, Vicky Scavezze; brothers, Vincent Knight of New Mexico, Dr. Phillip Knight, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, aunt, uncles, nieces, nephews, friends. She is preceded in death by her mother Vernalee Knight, father, Louis Knight, Mother-in-law, Mildred Horsecheifeagle Warrior, and her late husband, Ponca C.M. Warrior.

Jeffrey Arthur Lieb, Sr., 68 years young, resident of Ponca City, Ok, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2020, at O.U. Medical Center in Oklahoma City, OK. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.
Jeffrey was born on May 27, 1952, in Pawnee, OK to Henry Arthur Lieb, Jr. and the late, Beulah Evelyn (Cries For Ribs) Lieb. He was raised in Ponca City, OK. He was married to Lavonna Biggoose on July 10, 1976, in White Eagle.
The family will have a service at Willow Springs Ball Park at 5:30 PM, September 29th and 30th, 2020. The evening services are on September 30, 2020. The family is calling all Steelers Players, both former and current to the 50 yard line for one last chant “Who Are You?”, “What You Gonna Do?” to send Coach home. Graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM at the Ponca Tribal Cemetery on Thursday, October 1, 2020, with B.J. Miner officiating. Jeffrey attended McKinely School in Ponca City. Proceeded on to college at Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa and OSU, where he obtained his degrees in Education.
Over the years, Jeffry began his career with the City of Ponca City as a traffic engineer, continued on to serve his Ponca People as a Youth Outreach Mentor and served as the Ponca Tribes Higher Education Department Program Director. He took pride and joy serving and talking to many people through dedication and inspiration in gaining their education. All the while, becoming on of the most respectable coaches within the Ponca City community. Coach had a passion for teaching and guiding children of all ages to strive to be the best they can at whatever it is they wanted in any sport and life in general. Coach proudly carried that title for 36 years when he began coaching his children and grandchildren. he touched many lives and became an icon and legend in the sports industry. It was his passion to teach, not only his children, but all children, the fundamentals in life. When his inspiration of wise words would eventually be life changing for some, if not most. His love for sports; basketball and football was his life. His favorite teams were NBA Boston Celtics, NFL Pittsburgh Steelers, and of course, his beloved OU Sooners.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Lavonna Lieb, of the home; children, Darcie Renee Lieb and husband, Mike Page, Sr., Sonja Swan Lieb and Husband, Jason Payne, Jeffrey Arthur Lieb, Jr. and wife, Alexis, Derek Anthony Lieb, Amber Dawn Lieb and husband, Justin Melius, all from Ponca City; grandchildren, LaVera Marie, Autumn Sue, Darin James, Michael Don, Jeffrey Arthur, III, Lance Solon, Marli Shea, Evelyn Jade, Ambrya Maree, Miiwasa, Harper Grace and Aniyah Shea, all of Ponca City; grou great-grandchildren; father, Henry Arthur Lieb, Jr. of Ponca City; two brothers, Kinsel Vaugh of Ponca City and Stephen Montegomery of Tonkawa; sister, Rose Marie of Tonkawa and numerous nieces and nephews.

Colin passed on Sept 30, 1972. His funeral was SRO, the entire city grieved his passing. The turnout was huge, we all wanted to be there to say goodbye to Colin.

Karen Sue Mackey Whiles, age 68, long time resident of Ponca City, Oklahoma, passed away Monday, July 6, 2020 at her home.
A ceremony to celebrate Sue's life will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, July 13, 2020 at the Northeast Baptist Church with Pastor Scott Melton officiating. Following the ceremony, Sue will be laid to rest at Resthaven Memorial Park in Ponca. Honorary casket bearers will be her 23 grandchildren. Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.
Sue was born on November 28, 1951 to Robert F. Mackey and Corrine P. Cook Mackey in Ponca City. She was raised in Ponca City, graduating from PO-HI in 1970. After high school, Sue started working at Sonic, then Dillons Grocery Store, later K-Mart, Wal-Mart, Mazzio's, Oklahoma Natural Gas, and then Braums. While she was working at ONG, she met Russell Dean Whiles. They were married on April 30, 1983 at the First United Methodist Church in Ponca City. The two of them were nearly inseparable and they set out to make their own way as trade show vendors, which also allowed them to travel with one another. For the last twelve years, she has been retired and enjoying the country life with her beloved husband. In her younger days, Sue enjoyed hiking at Kaw Lake, arrowhead hunting and going on wild adventures with Russell, including one daring trip where they went to a NASCAR track and she did three laps at 165mph. Sue's zest for life was unquenchable and she had a great time when she was able. As well, Sue was a member of the Lady Jaycees and a longtime member of Northeast Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband Russell of the home, children: Tina Chase and husband Andy of West Monroe, LA, Renee' Turner of Lowell, AR, Jeremy Whiles and wife Laura of Owasso, OK, daughter in law Christy Whiles of Ponca City, son in law Donnie McKinney and wife Liz of Mountainburg, AR, sister Judy Ann Smith and husband Dennis of Ponca City, sister in law Sharon Jones and husband Al of Edmond, OK, 23 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and one more on the way.
Sue was preceded in death by her mother Corrine Mackey, son Steven Whiles, and daughter Jennifer McKinney.

William “Bill” McCormick, age 66, passed away October 15, 2018 in San Antonio, Texas.
He was born on February 4, 1952 in Wichita, Kansas to Louis and Bonnie McCormick. He is survived by his wife, Linda McCormick; sons, Billy McCormick, Noel McCormick and James McCormick; grandchildren, Cayden John McCormick, Landon Michael McCormick, Nevaeh Ann McCormick and Toby James McCormick; sister, Polly McCormick. Bill was a graduate and life long fan of Oklahoma State University. He was known for his dedication to his faith and frequently went on missionary trips to South America. He enjoyed the outdoors, traveling, his family and his dogs. He was a loving and gentle man whose kindness will be dearly missed.
Visitation will be at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera road, San Antonio, Texas 78238 on Monday, October 29, 2018 at 12:00 P.M. with a memorial service at 2:00 P.M.

Our Father , Papa, Husband , Brother, and Uncle left this earth on January 13th 2022. He was 69 years old. He was born on January 25th 1952 to William Alfred McKee and Annie Mae (Williams) McKee. He was the baby of the family. He grew up in Ponca City, Oklahoma and attended Ponca City High School graduating with the class of 1970. He was proud to be a Wildcat.
On January 8th 1970 he asked the love of his life to go steady. He always recalled, “I saw her big brown eyes and knew she was going to be my wife.” On May 29th 1971, they were joined in marriage. This past May they celebrated their 50th anniversary hosted by their children. They made their home in Ponca City, Oklahoma and had three children; Desiree Pruett husband Che, William McKee partner Shanesta, and Lisa Smith husband Paul. Ron has 9 grandkids Christopher Michael Pruett fiancé Olivia, Drew Ronald McKee, Abigail Lynn Smith, Sophia LeeAnn Smith, Ella Renee McKee , and William Liles McKee . Four bonus grandkids Brooklyn Rae Cook , Haven Nichole Cook, Phillip Barrett Cook, and Russell Smith. Two great grand kids Jaycob Ray Pruett, and Jordon Michael Pruett . He loved his grandkids so much and was their biggest supporter.
Ron worked for Pioneer wholesale liquor . Where he was a warehouse supervisor. Shortly before Pioneer closed, he went to work for Albertsons warehouse till his retirement.
Our dad took pride of his lawn. No one else could touch it because no one did it right . As kids we would always want to surprise him by mowing the lawn for him. It wasn’t till years later we found out he hated it. That shows what kind of dad we had. Dad loved music! He took pride in writing and singing. Picking his guitar was one of his favorite past times. He was in a few bands that traveled all over Oklahoma and played at many places. They had a following that loved their band. He passed the love of music to his kids and grandkids. Watching his kids play a instrument made him smile so big! He would also love to play for the people in nursing homes. He loved to make people dance, even if it was just them bouncing their knees.
He loved his OSU cowboys. His collection was very unique and he loved showing it off. He had a room in his home painted orange just for his collection. Our dad was the most giving and dedicated person you could ever meet. During the hot summers, in Oklahoma, he would see someone walking and give them a ride. As a huge cowboys fan, he would trade the black and orange colors for any colors his grandkids were into to show support for them.
The dedication he instilled into his kids was the same dedication he had with our mother. He loved and supported her and showed us that anything with work, can last. There was a golden rule that us kids had, and it was to never mention if any of the grand kids or any of us was in need of something, knowing that dad would run out and get it to beat you to it. We will miss you daddy. He is survived by his love of 50 years Mary Lynn ( Hawkins) McKee. His three children Desiree, Will and Lisa. Nine grandbabies Christopher, Drew, Abigail, Sophia, Ella, Liles, Brooklyn, Haven, and Barrett. Two great grandbabies Jaycob and Jordon. One sister Janice Devilbliss of Morris, Oklahoma. He is survived by many cousins, niece’s, and nephews he truly loved. He is proceeded is death by his parents, William and Annie McKee. Three brothers Tony , Jonnis, and Charles McKee. Two sisters Alice and Bonnie McKee. Funeral will be Tuesday January 18th 2022 at 1:00pm. It will be a grave side service at St Mary’s cemetery located inside I.O.O.F. cemetery. Visitation is January 16th and 17th 2022 from 1:00 pm to 8 pm at Amy Stittsworth Funeral Services of Enid, Oklahoma Due to the rising Covid infections, the family will not be hosting a reception.

Paula Kay Cremers died Saturday, May 7, 2011, in Denver, Colo., with her children and grandchildren at her side after a long, courageous battle with Huntington's Disease.
A wake will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 19, with Deacon Richard Robinson officiating. A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 20, at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Inturnment will follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.
Paula was born to Joseph K. and Elizabeth C. Montgomery on Feb. 20, 1952, in Ponca City. She was a lifetime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Paula graduated from Ponca City High School in 1970 and later from NOC in 1980 as a registered nurse. Paula worked as an RN for 28 years, caring for others in a job that she truly loved.
Paula loved playing with her grandkids more than anything in the world. She also loved the ocean, traveling, gardening, shopping, watching movies, being in the country, rocking out to live music, taking drives and going to the lake and to church. She loved birthdays and holidays and always made them special by her giving nature.
Paula had the kindest heart. She loved her family, friends and people of every walk of life. She deeply loved those in her life and was deeply loved. Paula, mom, aunt, grandma, friend, sister will be missed more than words could ever convey. God bless Paula Kay.
She was preceded in death by her parents and older sister, Mary Ann Higgins.
She is survived by her two children, Paul Cremers of Denver, Colo., and Amanda Cremers of Ponca City; six brothers, Carl, Phillip, Dennis, Royce, Rick and Joe Montgomery; five grandchildren, Haylee Benzing, Nick Clark, Mary Clark, Camille Cremers and Camille's little brother, who is still on the way.

On Monday April 29, 2013 Larry went to meet his savior Jesus Christ. Larry was born, May 15, 1952, and raised in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Larry went to Oklahoma State University and received a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry. Larry worked for Dowell in Research and Development in Tulsa Oklahoma from 1974-1980. While living in Tulsa, Larry’s first son was born, Lonnie Kirk Moran. Larry transferred to Midland, Texas in 1980 and worked for Dowell and Dowell Schlumberger from 1980-1985 as a Regional Engineer. While living in Midland, Larry’s second son was born, Landon Keith Moran. In 1985 Larry left Dowell Schlumberger and went to work for Conoco in Ponca City, Oklahoma from 1985 to 1994 as a research scientist. Larry transferred to Houston with Conoco in 1994 and worked in the worldwide drilling engineering group as a cementing specialist from 1994-1997. Larry changed assignments within Conoco and became a drilling rig supervisor from 1997-2004. As a drilling rig supervisor Larry supervised drilling operation offshore Gulf of Mexico, South Texas land operation in the Lobo field, Northwest New Mexico land operations drilling Dakota wells, and offshore Indonesia in the South Natuna Sea. When Conoco and Phillips merged Larry was transferred back to Houston as a worldwide Cementing specialist. Larry continued in this job until retiring from ConocoPhillips in 2009. Larry retired with 24 years of service from ConocoPhillips in 2009. After retirement Larry consulted as a cementing specialist for several domestic oil and gas companies and internationally for Qatar Petroleum. Larry stopped consulting in the upstream oil business after he was diagnosed with upper gastrointestinal cancer in early 2012.
Larry was an active member of API and ISO for many years and helped to write many of the current cementing recommended laboratory practices. Larry is the holder of multiple US and foreign patents. Larry published multiple papers dealing with cementing of oil and gas wells.
Larry is survived by his wife, Betty; parents, Leo and Marietta, an older brother, Landreth, and Landreth’s daughter, Michelle Berry-Engle. Larry is also survived by his two sons, Lonnie and Landon; his two step children, Tracy Fryar and Shane Harless, and six grandchildren, Logan Fryar, Austin Fryar, Cassie Harless, Brodie Harless, Lucas Moran, and Jarred Moran.
Larry was a member of Memorial Church of Christ in Houston.
Larry’s family and friends gathered at a visitation at Waltrip Funeral Directors, 1415 Campbell Road in Houston, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1, 2013. Larry’s funeral was conducted in the chapel of Waltrip Funeral Directors on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at 11:30 a.m., Mr. Larry Phillips of Memorial Church of Christ officiated. Family and friends celebrated Larry’s life and his eternal future.

Charles “Charlie” Arthur Myers was born on May 23, 1952 to William “Bill” and Leona Myers of Ranch Drive near Ponca City, Oklahoma. Charlie was the oldest of five brothers. He attended Mckliney Grade School and West Junior High, graduating from Ponca City High School in 1970. It was during this time that he developed his musical skills. One of his fondest memories was playing the Cornet with his high school band at the first inauguration of President Nixon in January of 1969. Upon graduation, he began his career working in construction for his grandfather, J.A. Fowler. He married Jan Leatherman and they raised 2 sons together for several years. He went on to work as an officer for the Newkirk Police Department before returning to construction as a crane operator. He was a proud member of the International Union of Operating Engineers until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his brothers and grandchildren. He was always willing to lend a hand on his son’s ranch in Red Rock and he enjoyed several trips to Arizona to spend time with his family.
Charlie is survived by his 2 sons Rep. David L. Cook and wife Diana of Globe, AZ, and Mark W. Cook of Kildare, OK; 5 grandchildren; David L. Cook, Jr. and Maria Cook of Globe, AZ, Blake Cook of Ponca City, Angela Cook of Stillwater, Justin Cook of Ponca City. 3 brothers; Larry (Wanda) Myers of Mooreland, Wayne (Tammy) Myers and John (Lisa) Myers of Ponca City along with several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death Grandparents, Father, Mother, & infant Brother William “Billie” James Myers.

Carla Lynn (Nelson) Fike, former Ponca City resident, died Sunday, Feb. 12, 1995, in Oklahoma City as the result of injuries received in a auto/train accident. She was 42.
The funeral will be held at 2 P.M. Friday in the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church, U.S. 60 and East Victory Street, with the Rev. David Stuart, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Trout Funeral Home.
Carla Lynn (Nelson) Fike was born April 1, 1952, in Ponca City, the Daughter of Hand and Ann (Burley) Nelson. She attended Ponca City schools, and graduated from Ponca City High School in 1970. After graduation, she was employed at Jack Rein Insurance Company. She married in 1972, then returned to Ponca City in 1976.
Mrs. Fike was employed at Conoco, in the computer department, in 1977. She retired in 1994, and moved to Oklahoma City. At the time of her death, she was employed by Fifth Season's Motel and was attending Rose State College to earn a degree as nutritionist/personal trainer.
Survivors include two daughters, April Fike of Oklahoma City and Jennifer (Fike) Hoddy of Ponca City: four sisters, Rita Caudill, Darlene Duncan, Peggy Epperson, all of Ponca City, and Sherry Burdick of Mulvane, Kan.; one brother, John Nelson of Manford; one grandson and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two infant brothers; and one nephew.

I found Deborah in our sophomore annual, and several of my friends remember her, not sure if she graduated with us, but I'm including her!
Deborah Kay Nuckols Soutter
Deborah Kay Nuckols Soutter, age 70, of Ponca City, Oklahoma, won the victory and went peacefully to be with our Lord and Savior on August 6th, 2022, due to a short battle with cancer.
Deborah was born February 12, 1952 in Ponca City to Jack and Betty (Risch) Nuckols. While her father was in the Air Force, she grew up attending school in Bermuda Islands, traveling many places with her family before moving back to Ponca City where she attended Ponca City High School and made it her home, raising two children, Jim Soutter and April Soutter Kelly.
Deborah worked (retired) at Titus/ASC for 45 years where she held many positions and had many fond memories of her work friends that she made through the years.
Deborah enjoyed watching her hummingbirds, gardening, and taking walks by the beach, collecting driftwood along the way, enjoying nature trail walks and walking her beloved dogs Lexi and Daisy May at Cann Gardens.
She is survived by her children, Jim and Shawney Soutter of Ponca City, April and Todd Kelly of Fairfax, grandchildren Lauren and Casey Wells, Logan and Alyssa Soutter, Jakob and Kelsey Fusselman, Baily and Jack Gonser, Taytum and Trista
Kelly. Great grandchildren Gage, Thomas, Peyton, Emry, Layton, Coalson and Charliegh Wells, Samuel and Kaylee Soutter, and several nieces and nephews.
Deborah was preceded in death by her parents Jack and Betty Nuckols, brother Scott Nuckols, and sister Sharon Nuckols; and niece Robin and granddaughter Tessa Kelly.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 27th at 10 am at Oddfellows Cemetery, 1206 S. Waverly St., Ponca City, OK.

Gary Allen Ramsdell was born January 7, 1952 in Hattiesburg, MS to Jack and Rosemary (Karr) Ramsdell. He attended elementary school in Jackson, MS, middle school in Connecticut, and high school in Ponca City. After 3 years of military service in the Army, he attended Oklahoma State University and graduated with a degree in Agricultural Engineering.
Gary worked in various roles in the oil and gas industry which took him all over the country, and beyond. After working for Ingersoll-Rand, Conoco, and OG&E/Enogex, he retired as a Project Manager from Enable Mid-Stream in 2014.
Gary loved outdoor activities, including golf, shooting sports, and hiking. He loved watching sports, esp. basketball, and cherished the times he was able to attend his son’s basketball games. Throughout his life he was an avid cyclist, traveling to many states to take part in sponsored rides; including favorite rides in Alabama, Mississippi, and Oklahoma. He was an avid reader, and enjoyed the study of the Civil War and modern military history.
Gary was an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Edmond for over 20 years, where he served in various ministries including Cook’s Night Out, Men’s Bible Studies, Choir, and as a Deacon.
He is survived by his wife Michele, son Charles and his wife Jasmin, brother Mark and his wife Erin, daughter-in-law Alyssa and her husband Cody and grandson Brooks, and nephews Brian and Austin and their families.

Herbert Lee Roland
Herbert Lee Roland passed from this world October 1, 2020 at the age of 69 in Ponca City, Oklahoma. He began his journey February 23, 1951 in Ponca City hen he was born to James Lee Roland, Sr and Mary Josephine (Harris) Norwood.
Herbert will be remembered by many in the community. He found great joy in playing softball. He had a natural talent for the game and was able to catch anything that was thrown his way. He spent a great deal of his time with the youth of the area coaching every sport that was available. He was so loved as a coach, he coached multiple generations. To say he was a sports fanatic is an understatement. His favorite college team was OU.
Herbert was the cornerstone of his household, a loving husband, incredible father, and wonderful provider. He took time with his son-in-law showing him how to get the best results with his Bar-B-Queing. He enjoyed playing Spades, Dominoes and Horseshoes.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Martha and their best pet Mars, children, Stacy and her husband Jerome Orange along with his Goddaughter and bestest friend, Kadrian, April and her fiancé Tenisha, Micael Roland and Rachel Derion, grandchildren, Alika Monger, Cody Orange, and Kyndal Orange, siblings, James and wife Pearly Roland, Melburn Roland, Joseph Roland, Marvin and wife Treva Roland, Charlene Roland and Connie Roland, Brenda Martin along with a host of extended family, nieces, nephews and cousins. Herbert is preceded in death by his parents, grandchildren, Courtney Denise Orange and Jackie Jerome Orange, Jr, and his sister, Thelma Roland.

Cemetery following the service. Pall bearers will be Justin Roland, James Roland III, Joseph Roland Jr., Alan Teeten, Chad Cunningham, and Dustin Hundley. Honorary Bearers are James Roland Jr., Melburn Roland, Joe Roland Sr., Marvin Roland, Michael Roland, and Jerome Orange.

Linda Spears McAlister tells me that Jack did not graduate with us because he joined the military, we agree he belongs here, and after reading his obituary I can say I am very sorry that I did not know Jackie (I understand that's what they called him).

It is with heartbreak we share with you; Jack Allen Schwarz received an invitation from his beloved Nano to join her on an adventure that he simply could not refuse. A long-awaited reunion with family and friends not seen in a long while. A one-way adventure that departed on May 11th 2021.
Thus, leaving us the impossible task to unjustly narrate a life story for the greatest man we will ever know.

Profound admirer of Mother Earth, Canine loyalist, Pudding enthusiast and Secret admirer of the Pioneer Women (the human chef, not the bronze statue, although he admired her too)
Jack Allen Schwarz, a handsomely refined blueeyed Sagittarius born the 5th day of December in the year 1951 to George and Patricia Schwarz in beautiful Ponca City, Oklahoma. Welcomed in birth by his older brother George who was his lifelong mentor, accomplice, greatest protector and friend.
A decorated war veteran who held the belief that any peace is better than any war. He worked his life as a craftsman in the creative art of upholstery. He loved the outdoors and to travel with his canine companion Chloe. His favorite destination in life is where you may find him today, the cabin at Sunset Lake. It was his place of refuge, peace, reprieve and bliss. When not on the road or by the lake, you could find him sipping a diet coke on the porch of 412 deep in conversation with one of the zillion friends he was always surrounded by.
Survived by his children: daughter Jennifer (Jay Jay) and son Andrew (Andy) whom filled his soul with the deepest of pride, joy and only a hint of distress who he regarded as the success story of his life. He gave us the childhood to be envied by generations to come, educated us on the importance of a hydrating face mask, and taught us wealth was not monetary but rather the result of being selfless, humble, kind and forgiving. His brother George, who did not win the race to death but will miss him dearly. His grandchildren; Victoria, Kade, Landon and Gage and his brother Kaleb, and many extended family and friends too many to name but none forgotten who filled him with multitudes of irreplaceable treasures he will undoubtedly take on his adventure.
A celebration of his legacy will be held Saturday, June 5th at LifeCenter 1300 W Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK at 1pm. Formal attire is discouraged, Jack did not own a suit and now is not the time to dust yours off. Dress comfortably, maybe a tropical button down or even some colorful tie dye. After all he was a hippie.

Gloria Elizabeth Trout Preston of Norman, Oklahoma, passed away on May 11, 2022, at the age of 69. Gloria was born on July 6, 1952, in Ponca City, Oklahoma, to Jack and Louise Trout. She attended Oklahoma State University and Wichita State University, and ultimately obtained a law degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1989. Gloria had her own firm in Oklahoma City for many years but made her home in Norman. Gloria enjoyed spending time with her dogs, reading and playing the piano.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Louise Trout of Ponca City, her parents-in-law, Paul and Millie Preston of McAlester, and her brother-in-law, Terry Preston, of Sand Springs. She is survived by her husband Sam of the home and beloved dogs Joe and Maggie. She is also survived by her sisters, Edwina Trout and husband Bob Evans of Oklahoma City, and Julie Lombardi of Owasso, as well as nieces Caroline Philley and husband David of Houston, TX, and Megan Lombardi of Fayetteville, AR. She is additionally survived by a nephew, Brennan Lombardi of Tahlequah, and a great-nephew, James Philley of Houston, TX, and two brothers-in-law, Leon Preston of McAlester and Larry Preston of Norman.
Memorials may be made in memory of Gloria to the Second Chance Animal Sanctuary in Norman, Oklahoma.

Sheri Ann O'Leary, longtime resident of Ponca City, passed away Thursday, January 29, 2009 in Newkirk. She was 57.
Sheri was born January 9, 1952 at Tinker Air Force Base, Midwest City, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Robert Dallas Walters and Dixie Lou (Reynolds) Walters. She was a 1970 graduate of Ponca City High School and a 1974 graduate of the University of Central Oklahoma having majored in accounting. She later graduated from the School of Nursing at Northern Oklahoma College-Tonkawa in 1994.
Sheri had been employed with Conoco both in Ponca City and Houston, the State of Oklahoma while living in Edmond, Oklahoma, the Department of Human Services in Ponca City and most recently was a Registered Nurse at the Ponca City Medical Center. She was a member of the American Nurses Association. She was of the Christian faith and her enjoyments included her nieces and nephews, traveling and shopping.
She is survived by her four sisters, Karen Patten, Lubbock, Texas, Debbie Freese and husband, Marion, of Ponca City, Janice Steates and husband, Charles, of Ponca City, and Ruth Lampe and husband, Cliff, also of Ponca City; nine nieces and nephews, and several other great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one infant son, Riley Edward O'Leary; one niece and one nephew; a brother-in-law, Dr. Thomas Patten.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, February 2, 2009 at the Hope Chapel on the grounds of the I.O.O.F. Cemetery with her nephew, Todd Patten presiding. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Meagan Lampe Scholarship Fund, in care of RCB Bank-Pioneer, 14th & Highland, Ponca City, Oklahoma 74601. The family will be at 2321 Drake Lane.
Janet Theresa Weingart Lyon, born in Ponca City on Sept. 27, 1952, died in Okla. City on Sept. 6, 2013. Jann was a graduate of Ponca City High School and after living in various cities, settled in OKC and has lived here for over 30 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis & Virginia Weingart and she is survived by her daughter Brandie Bragg and grandchildren Lyndsie & Landen Bragg; sisters Joy Scott, Dottye Allen, Diane Riley & husband Guy, Patty Diaz & husband Francisco; and brother Louis Weingart, Jr. & wife Jean Ann. Jann was a member of her high school band who traveled to Wash. D.C. to play at an inauguration ceremony. While married to Gerald Lyon, they traveled extensively which Jann loved and enjoyed immensely. Jann also loved to dance, being a member of the Lynda Tarpley Tappers. She had a passion for all animals and especially her dog, Echo. The Memorial Service will be on Saturday, 9/14, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of St. Eugene's Catholic Church, 2400 W. Hefner Road, OKC.

Teresa was going to a golf clinic early one morning and stopped to assist someone with car trouble. A semi truck jackknifed and was sliding towards them , so they both jumped over the guard rail, it was seventy some feet to the rocks below and they both perished. So sad, I played golf with her since we were four years old. Sweet girl.
